LCMAA CHAIRMAN’S GREETINGS

Victor A. Hogstrom

Chairman, Board of Directors,
LCMAA-USA

Friends, colleagues and visitors, it is with pleasure and much enthusiasm that we welcome you to this LCMAA website. Within these digital walls, you will find most of what you wish to learn about the Lott Carey Mission Alumni Association. Thanks for your interest in learning about us and our school, Lott Carey Mission, an institution that has served as the footing and trailblazer of Liberia’s K – 12 education, since 1908. Lott Carey is certainly, second to none.

As you may be aware, Lott Carey Baptist Mission or LCM, as it is popularly known, receives a significant portion of its support from its founding organization, the Lott Carey Baptist Missionary Convention, USA. However, the Convention cannot continue to “walk” this course alone. After all, LCM has produced some of the best minds Liberia and the world have known. The school has “touched” thousands of lives in so many ways. An example of this can be seen in the video presentation attached to this website. Therefore, we need to play our role, if Lott Carey shall continue to hold its place in the Liberian society.

With current economic challenges being experienced throughout the world and a war ravaged Liberia atop this register, my personal appeal to you, is to allow your financial support to represent your loud voice, by becoming a significant part of the change. No matter how large or small your support to LCM may be, it matters. I also urge your participation in the Annual Reunions and encourage you to take great pride and satisfaction in this important educational foundation called Lott Carey Mission School, erected by the founders over 100 years ago. You do so by extending your hand of support to the rebuilding of the infrastructure destroyed as a result of a shattering civil war. You may also assist your fellow brothers and sisters of LCM with scholarships, medical supplies and with the proper learning tools that will assure, they obtain a solid and Christian - based education for which Lott Carey Baptist Mission School is acknowledged, as demonstrated in its Slogan: Character, Industry and Scholarship. After all, education matters and if we help to properly educate Lott Carey students, we are training Liberia for a better future.

Students enter Lott Carey Mission School to learn and build a solid academic foundation which enable them to enter other institutions of higher learning throughout the world. The purpose is to prepare for service to mankind. This service involves giving back to help make our world, nation, community or school a better place. Acts 20:35 summarizes it best, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
